What was the highlight of Harper Perintis by ASTON
Great stay close to airport.
Clean and comfortable. There is a convenience store just down the street and a few places to eat in and around the hotel. The hotel is secured with a guard and gate. Clean water stations available in the hallway for drinking. Convenient hotel for an overnight stay near the airport.
There is some wear and tear in the hallways, but quality nonetheless.

Standard chain hotel accommodation, near airport, good food
Useful if stopping over in Makassar en-route to other islands. Close to the airport. Staff friendly. I don't think they get many international tourists as English wasn't widely spoken. As a solo travelling white European female I attached a lot of attention in the breakfast buffet despite deliberately being conservatively dressed and keeping my head down. The positive side of this attention was that staff treated me with exceptionally wide beaming smiles and seemed keen to interact. The negative I'll write below. It's a dated hotel with a 'business hotel' vibe. It felt safe and secure and had all the usual features you'd except at a standard chain hotel. I didn't use the pool in the end so I can't comment on that. The food was good.
Don't expect a great view. Not really anything to do within walking distance. Best used as a transit hotel. Other guests hassled me. I get the impression that a solo white European traveller is a novelty because when out on an excursion I was ambushed by 15 Muslim ladies demanding photos of me, and at breakfast in the hotel a male guest sat at my table without asking (there were many tables available) and said "take photo", to which I replied "no", but he didn't respect that, and his friend on the next table started snapping pictures of me like he was paparazzi. This kind of behaviour happened to me a lot and it became tiring and invasive - especially as I had deliberately dressed conservatively even though it was too hot for trousers etc. Anyway - that's travel - but if you're solo female be aware that you are a circus attraction! Not the hotel's fault of course.

Nice room, great pool.
Tables in restaurant not suitable for longer persons. Close to the airport but otherwise not a location to stay for a couple of days.

Very nice rooms, totally recommend staying there. The breakfast itself is worth just staying in this hotel.
